2015 Dillenbeck Reunion Adirondack Animal Land

The Reunion Planning Board for the Dillenbeck family in America has decided to have a fun-filled Saturday at the Adirondack Animal Land near Gloversville north of Amsterdam. This is an 80-acre zoo located in the foothills of the Adirondack Mounntains. They have a petting zoo, an African Safari ride, and an 1800s Western Tour, cafe and gift shop.

If there is time Saturday afternoon, we will visit the Kateri Tekakwitha Shrine near Fonda. The Kateri Shrine Native American Exhibit is housed in a converted Dutch Barn built in 1782. Kateri Tekakwitha was born in 1656 of an Algonquin mother and a Mohawk chief. She was a young Mohawk woman in the 17th century who converted to Christianity. On October 21, 2012, Kateri was canonized as the first Native American woman to be honored with sainthood.
